Fats are considered a „bogeyman“ in today's world. However, it is necessary to distinguish between fats and to know which acid chains they contain. Fish oil is one of the healthy ones because it contains a lot of omega 3-fatty acids. What is it good for and how can we use its effects for our body?

Fish oil is a true prevention against many diseases. It sorts cardiovascular, cerebral issues, but also improves the skin, relieves swelling and is great for foetal development in pregnant women. But there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • It depends on which fish you choose. You can get the most omega 3 fatty acids from sea fish, such as sardines and mackerel.
  • They are not the only fat ingredients that benefit our health. They must also be combined with other fatty acids (6, 9).
  • Omega 3 cannot be made by the body itself, so we must supplement it with diet or nutritional supplements. There are several ways to get fish oil. As we have already mentioned, it depends on what fish it is obtained from, which affects the total amount of substances and nutrients. Tablets and oil in liquid form are common processing methods. The recommended amount is 4 to 6 grams of omega 3 acids per day for an adult.

Fish oil has many beneficial effects, whether on overall immunity, heart, blood vessels, painful menstruation, or weight loss. We will discuss some of these benefits below.
